The 48V DC port of the Power-Buddie will power a 54V POE switch but there are some considerations that you need to keep in mind.

  1. The basic switch functionally of most 54V switches will start to function on 12V but at this point you will have no POE functionality.
  2. If your powers source (UPS as an example) reach 15V then your switch should be able to start powering devices with a POE rating of 15V.
  3. As the input voltage increase so will the POE volt output increase.

The Power-Buddies DC UPS provide 48V output on its DC port and will power any POE device connected to the POE switch that requires 48V or less.

In order to determine if the Power-Buddie will power your devices through the 54V POE switch you will need to verify what your device POE volt requirements are.

As an example, see the Hikvision DS-2DY3220IW-DE(S6) camera's power requirements below. The Power-Buddie will be able to power it through the 54V POE swicth as its minimum requirement is 42.5V
